Prof. Forrester's research interests are in statistics and mathematical biology. Prior to arriving at Dickinson in the fall of 2006, he was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University where he worked as a mathematical modeler for the Alliance for Cellular Signaling. He has a strong interest in interdisciplinary research and regularly collaborates with other members of the 天美传媒APP community. He has had a long-standing collaboration with Prof. Michael Roberts of the Biology department at Dickinson as co-PI on a series of grants focusing on acute myeloid leukemia and cancer cell biology. Previous members of these research cohorts have received several prestigious awards including Goldwater and Fulbright scholarships. Prof. Forrester is currently on sabbatical working on modeling admissions data for Dickinson and with students on data analysis.
MATH 171 Multivariable Calculus
Multivariable calculus including parametric and polar equations, vectors, three-dimensional analytic geometry, vector-valued functions, functions of several variables, partial derivatives, and multiple integrals. Additional topics if time permits.Three hours of classroom and one and a half hour of lab per week. Prerequisite: 170 or departmental placement. Offered every semester.
